In line with Government recommendations about homework Holy Trinity has always encouraged its children to complete assigned tasks. Homework is set to complement and extend a child’s current work within school.
In Key Stage 1 the basis of homework is aligned to the National Literacy project and from time to time spellings and other pieces of homework will be given. Within Key Stage 2 each Year 3 and 4 child will be given, on average, 30 minutes of homework each night. This will include reading. As children get older their homework will be in line with their current class work and will increase to approximately 45 minutes per night. Longer assignments will be given at weekends. This school expects children to complete assigned homework and knows that it has the support of the parent body in this matter. Homework is a chance for children to develop their skills, further their interests and engage parents in the process.
