“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
The ethos of our school is Catholic. The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families.
The school is conducted by its Governing Body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with its Trust Deed and Instrument of Government and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. As a Catholic school, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. As a Catholic school, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of the school’s activity. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education is fully supported by all families in the school. All parents are therefore expected to give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school. This does not affect the right of a parent who is not of the faith to apply for a place for their child at the school.
Places are offered according to an order of priority you can find in the Admissions Policy for the relevant year. Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will be given to Catholic children in accordance with the oversubscription criteria listed in the Policy.
A description of the parish boundary is contained within the Admission Criteria (see below) or available at the school and parish or by clicking this link to the Archdiocesan website https://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/boundary-map
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made via the local authority by completing the in-year admissions application form which is available from https://www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/education-and-schools/school-admissions/school-admissions-applications . As a Catholic School, parents will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form in addition to the standard application form that is submitted to the local authority. Supplementary Information Forms can be obtained from the school’s website below or a hard copy can be provided on request by contacting the school office on 01902 558977 or emailing email@example.com . Supplementary Information Forms must be returned directly to the school at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, Fraser Street, Bilston, West Midlands WV14 7PD, or by email stated above. If a Supplementary Information Form is not submitted directly to the school this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child being offered a place.
The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the governors.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/2024, will be applied. The full admission arrangements can be accessed below or by contacting the school office to request a hard copy. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details regarding waiting lists.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact the Headteacher at school. You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority on 01902 556556 and asking for the Admissions Department.
