Jubilee Day

Our school had a truly uplifting day as we joined the Archdiocese in celebrating Jubilee Day. It was a special moment to pause and look back on all we have embraced so far during the Jubilee Year of Hope, while also looking ahead to how we will continue this journey right up to the Feast of the Epiphany, when the Jubilee Year officially concludes, and beyond into our daily lives.

We gathered for a beautiful assembly where we sang along with music from Jo Boyce, listened to Bishop Timothy proclaim the Gospel, and took in his inspiring homily about living out the message of hope in our everyday lives. It was moving to join with other schools in prayer and feel part of something so much bigger.

Back in class, the children took part in a range of activities linked to the theme of hope: creating thoughtful artwork, writing messages for their families, friends and others, and reflecting on the small but powerful ways we can each make a positive difference in our world.

To finish the day, we came together once more to share our work, celebrate one another’s efforts, and carry forward the message at the heart of this Jubilee Year. It was a joy to be part of such a hopeful and faith-filled day.
